In this episode we spend some time with Joyce Nevaquaya Harris, the daughter of Doc “Tate” Nevaquaya. One of nine siblings, Joyce speaks about growing up in Oklahoma’s Comanche Indian Country and how she rediscovered her passion for art. Art is Medicine.
Joyce Nevaquaya Harris is a descendent of the Comanche Nation. Coming from the Penatuka band and also a descendant of the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes of Oklahoma. Her artwork showcases a custom technique, which is similar to pallet knife painting.
